Enlisted Benefits
As an enlisted member of the Air Force you'll receive a steady salary, and food and housing allowances.
Salary
Pay increases with rank and time-in-service. You'll also receive a yearly cost-of-living increase. In addition to your basic military pay, you're eligible for tax-free housing and food allowances.

Housing Allowance
Living expenses, including utilities and maintenance, are covered for Air Force members who choose to live in on-base housing/apartments. Based on rank and geographic location, a monthly tax-free housing allowance is provided for off-base residents.
住在基地的话，山姆大叔埋单。住在外面也可以，每月都有住房补贴拿。
Food Allowance
Enlisted personnel receive daily food allowances, and single Airmen may opt to receive "Rations in Kind" meal accounts that allow them to eat as many as four meals a day in the on-base dining facility for free. These facilities provide a large selection of "home-cooked" meals along with a variety of fast-food options, too.You’ll also save by shopping at the tax-free, on-base department and grocery stores.
当美国兵，可以每天免费到食堂吃四顿饭。虽然是快餐，但是据说跟家常饭菜一样好吃。在基地的食杂店买个小食品之类的还免税。
Thrift Savings Plan
The federal Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) allows participants to place a portion of their monthly pay into an account similar to a 401(K) investment plan. The contributions are considered pre-tax dollars and therefore reduce the amount of income subject to tax, and the accounts grow tax-free. Enrollment is available when members first join the military and anytime thereafter. Unlike traditional military retirement, which requires a commitment of at least 20 years of active duty, money invested in the TSP belongs to individual members, no matter how many years they serve. Income contributed to the TSP is not taxed until withdrawn from the account. Withdrawal before age 59 ½ may be subject to penalty, however, the TSP account can be rolled over into an IRA or another employer's retirement account.
退休了怎么办？根据联邦储蓄计划，入伍士兵可以把每月补助存起一部分，这一部分钱当然是不用交税给国家的。不管服役时间长短，退役了就可以取出来用。你要是从事别的工作，这笔钱还可以转移到你的养老金账户里。
Retirement
You'll be eligible to retire after 20 years of service with the Air Force with no payroll deductions for its retirement plan. That is one of the earliest retirements around.
服役20年就可以退休。你20岁当兵，40岁就可以舒舒服服回家养花玩了。
Insurance
The Air Force offers excellent benefits and competitive insurance rates. You'll also receive comprehensive medical and dental care. In addition, you'll get full pay and allowances for any sick days you may need to take and we offer low-cost life insurance up to $400,000. Family members may receive medical care at military or civilian facilities through various options for little or no cost.
不管看病还是拔牙，都有补贴，还可以低价购买40万美金的人寿险。军属们也能在各种军民医院里低价看病。
Education
The Air Force is committed to education and you’ll have the opportunity to take your training as far as you’d like, on or off base. Plus, if you're stationed overseas or stateside, your children can attend excellent schools on base.
服役期间可以接受教育。要是你在海外或边防部队服役，你的小孩还可以到基地的学校去读书。当然是不要你一分钱的。
Recreation
Wherever you go, you'll find social activities and recreational programs geared to the interests of each family member. Enlisted clubs feature a full calendar of social events for members, spouses and guests. Bases sponsor youth activities including teen functions, and they generally have youth centers where children can spend time in a safe environment. Most Air Force bases have golf courses, arts and crafts facilities, bowling alleys, tennis courts and swimming pools.
娱乐方面，基地里一般都有保龄球场，游泳池，网球馆，还有高尔夫培训班，美术和手工培训班。军属也想一起玩？没问题。
Vacation -- Travel
How does 30 days of vacation with pay per year sound? Air Force personnel can travel for a nominal fee on military aircraft on a space-available basis. If your destination is near a military facility, you can enjoy hotel-quality lodging on base for as little as $6 a night.
每年30天带薪假，听起来怎么样？不仅如此，如果方便，你旅行的时候还可以坐军用飞机。旅馆的话也不用找了，直接住到空军基地就行，比宾馆也不差，一宿6块钱。
