Top Gun
Mastiff is bringing the Tom Cruise flick to the Nintendo DS. First details, screens, video, and impressions.

June 30, 2005 - Mastiff has revealed that it will produce and publish a Nintendo DS title based on Paramount's Top Gun film. The dual-screen game, an action-based flight combat design, is being prepped for a 2005 release, and though it's still early in development we've been given the opportunity to fly through a few missions on the handheld well before the game's shipdate.
When the game's completed, players will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of naval aircraft as well as play as and interact with characters from Top Gun the movie. The DS game will feature more than ten different missions that cut across multiple landscapes, including land and sea locations where players must target and blast air, water, and land-based enemies using their craft's weaponry. The final game will also include a Top Gun Competition Campaign so players can rank up there with the best of the best.
The version we've played is extremely early in development. So early, in fact, that it crashes if you breathe on it funny. Sound effects are still going in, and the company has stated that the game will feature an energetic audio track reminiscent of the film's musical score. Still, even with the pre-alpha build, this early look shows off an extremely promising game design that utilizes a solid and smooth 3D engine that gives off an excellent sense of speed and maneuverability. The available missions show off a variety of locations and situations, including areas where you have to maneuver through the tight confines of snow-covered canyons.
Players can take out enemies with their front mounted guns, or by hitting the action button they can pull up their targeting computer to lock onto the enemy craft. When the enemy's locked, hit the shoulder button to launch a fire-and-forget missile and watch the fireworks when they hit the target. The lower screen is used for radar purposes, tracking enemy targets to make keeping track of these guys easier. The screen can also be used to adjust the camera with a "mouselook" function so that it's easy to glance around the area at incoming craft.
Though the function currently doesn't work in our build of the game, Top Gun promises multiplayer air combat with up to four players using the local wireless network of the Nintendo DS systems. The menu system in the early build indicates that the developers are working on both multiple cartridge multiplayer, as well as a single-cart Download Play mode. We'll have to see if this pans out as the game progresses into development.
Currently the game is set for a Fall 2005 release date, and we'll have more details on Top Gun as we get closer to a final product. Check out the game in action by clicking on the media link below.

2005秋天预定发售 怎么感觉画面和ＧＢＡ的没多大区别啊．这款游戏还是用遥控杆舒服，更有感觉． 要求不高，希望有皇牌空战2的水准就行了. 看起来挺不错的，小期待一下 不要光注意画面吧...不过娃娃对这类游戏不感冒...看看而已 不错了

貌似照片有点模糊的说。 马赛克超强~顶~~~郁闷~~失望~ 哇~竟然和我的E680I效果差不多,寒死了~ 那种爆炸法才叫人寒啊~~一炮过去连铁都爆得气化了~
