March 06 PSM describes an upcoming PSP firmware update that will include an e-mail client.Sony Mail will let users setup a PSP e-mail account using the PSP's unique system ID instead of wrestling with server setup.
Hopefully it'll have the ability to access more than just the PSP account.I can almost smell the unified login, baby.
A GPS addon is on the way later in 2006 and will be accompanied by the release of map UMD's.

因为提到地图绘制软件，和SONY最新公布的消息相符，因此这个新闻被人认为有一定可信度
PlayStation Magazine March 06号によると、PSP用に本体の固有IDを使用した電子メール機能“PSP Mail”が提供されるとのこと。
今までにPSPでメールを見たい時はブラウザからweb経由で見ることができましたが、わざわざPSP Mailと名付けられているからにはメールクライアントのほかに何らかのサービスが提供されるのかも？
セットアップは、PSP固有のIDで認証してソニーのサーバに接続するだけの簡単仕様。
さらに、以前から展示だけはされていた外付けGPSユニットが年内にも発売されるという、噂。地図/地域情報の入ったUMDとセットで提供され、データのアップデートはUMD(とおそらくはオンライン)経由とのこと。
4月20日にゼンリンからPSP用地図ソフト「みんなの地図」も発売されることですし、噂ながらに信頼性に足るレベルかもしれません。
According to a second article "leaked" from the now infamous March 06 PlayStation Magazine (which is already credited with an article detailing an Xbox Live-killer service and PlayStation 3 deets) Sony will include a new "Sony Mail" client on an "upcoming" (homebrew hating) firmware update that will allow users to setup a new email account using their PSP's unique system ID. Nice, but PSP users can already access web-based email accounts.
