Rarity Collection 5 gives you a special variant art card in every pack, like you’ve never seen before! It’s still All-Foil, it’s still All-Amazing, but it’s also your first crack at some unique cards.
Just like the previous 4 Rarity Collections (counting Quarter Century Bonanza & Quarter Century Stampede), Rarity Collection 5 revolves around an approximately 80-card set that’s chock full of today’s hottest tournament-level cards, plus some old favorites. From Chaos Angel to Kashtira Fenrir, from Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade to Mementoal Tecuhtlica – Combined Creation, and many, many, more, this is the best chance you’ll have at getting today’s meta-relevant cards for your Decks.
In each 5-card pack, 4 slots pull from that main card pool, in a variety of rarities, from the normal Super, Ultra, and Secret Rares, to Starlight, Platinum Secret, and the unique “Prismatic”-style Ultimate & Collector’s Rares found only in Rarity Collection sets.
And, like Quarter Century Bonanza & Quarter Century Stampede, the 5th card in each pack comes from a different card pool than the rest of the pack. But this time, each 5th card is one of dozens of new variant art cards.
Most Rarity Collection 5 variant art cards have little catch phrases like you’d use in a messaging app, some in English, some in Japanese, plus the card arts have been adjusted with new backgrounds, highlights, added elements, and zoom-ins. You won’t be finding cards quite like this anywhere except Rarity Collection 5.
There are other surprises in Rarity Collection 5, too. But more about that later…
Here’s a chart showing the anatomy of each Rarity Collection 5 pack!

The Crimson King(红莲王者)
Blazing Dominion burns bright with fantastic and fearsome new cards you won’t want to miss, starting off with Fairy Tails, Anna Kaboom, and the Master of Faster himself!
(Hopefully you’ve picked up your copies of Structure Deck: The Crimson King. Now is the time to sleeve those cards up and blaze your way to victory, just like the King of the Blazing Dominion, Jack Atlas!)
Kicking off with the big boys, of course we’ve got gigantic Jack-themed Synchro Monsters! When you Synchro Summon the Level 8 DARK Dragon, The Crimson King (seen on the left), you can add any card from your Deck to your hand that mentions “Red Dragon Archfiend”. And then, as a Quick Effect, you can banish it to Synchro Summon an actual Red Dragon Archfiend from your Extra Deck, double its ATK, and make it immune to your opponent’s destruction effects!
Crimson Blader is also back, as a Level 7 Synchro Monster with endless potential (seen on the right)! It can Special Summon, or add to your hand, any Level 8 or higher monster that cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. That means you could grab a Level 8 Ritual Monster right from your Deck and add it to your hand, or Special Summon back a Level 8 Fusion or Synchro Monster in your Graveyard. As a bonus, the new Crimson Blader also automatically destroys any Level 5 or higher monster it battles!
To help unleash these spicy new Synchro Monsters, we’ve also got new building blocks. Check out the new Power Vice Dragon as an example. You can Special Summon it from your hand if you have no monsters, or if you have only DARK Synchro Monsters. When Special Summoned, it adds any “Resonator” monster from your Deck to your hand. And if you Synchro Summon Red Dragon Archfiend using Power Vice Dragon, it cannot be destroyed by battle!
CHOO! CHOO! ALL ABOARD! The Jack cards are great (what else would you expect?), but Anna Kaboom is back again to strut her stuff!
Get hyped for two new Level 10 EARTH Machines that make it easier than ever to set up pairs of Level 10 monsters (for an easy Xyz Summon) or just Summon directly and quickly from the Extra Deck.
Two new Rank 10 Superdreadnought Xyz Monsters also just rolled out of the shop with an arsenal of new weapons. One gives you an extra Machine Normal Summon each turn and lets you add any EARTH Machine or “Barrage Blast” to your hand when Xyz Summoned. It can also fire off its Xyz Materials to blow up Spell and Trap Cards. The other Superdreadnought can negate an opponent’s monster effect and watch it go KABOOM right in their face!
Train lovers get a new Spell Card, too. It can add Special Schedule or Urgent Schedule to your hand and places a Token monster on your opponent’s field…which means they have more monsters than you, so you can use Urgent Schedule on your first turn!
“Fairy Tail” monsters are back for a brand-new chapter! The new Level 4 “Fairy Tail” monster is like an instant index, grabbing any “Fairy Tail” Spell/Trap right out of your Deck and into your hand.
They also get a new Equip Spell Card that lets you Fusion Summon! You read that right: there are two new “Fairy Tail” Fusion Monsters in this set! You won’t want to make any noise in this library, because these keepers of stories are quite powerful! One can Special Summon any “Fairy Tail” monster from your Deck or banishment, and the other can negate any card or effect!
But there’s another story, too, a Rank 4 Xyz Monster! The twist in this tale is that even though it is DARK, it protects your LIGHT “Fairy Tail” monsters, can fill up your Graveyard with “Fairy Tail” cards, and even bookmark its place to return itself to the last place you left off.
Of course, there are still even more amazing cards to be revealed in Blazing Dominion so make sure to keep an eye out! (And wow, those sounds from the Dinosaur lab keep getting louder….)
Blazing Dominion contains:
10 Secret Rares
14 Ultra Rares
26 Super Rares
50 Commons
(25 cards available as Starlight Rares!)

Severe Performance Outliers (i.e. “census data”)
This includes cards both on a Deck level and an individual level. For example, Dracotail’s performance as a Deck since October puts it in line for increases, and Droll & Lock Bird’s performance as an individual card puts it in line for an increase as well (more so in North America than in Europe, which is interesting).
As always, this is the most important criteria and the fundamental principle of Genesys: cards seeing excessive play see their costs go up, other cards come down, while keeping OTK’s boxed out. Everything listed below is just part of our initial ongoing early access tuning. Once we exit early access it will be a bit different (and we’ll be talking A LOT about the long-term Genesys plans, soon, and those plans are pretty extensive).
To put it another way, everything listed below is going to be a performance outlier unless we hit it now. That’s what early access is all about, setting up the initial points list. Once we exit early access, the purely census approach will take over, more. Although we’ll still need to assign some points to new cards, right out of the gate. (Which isn’t perfect – see Branded, below.)
Cards That Attack the Deck/Extra Deck
We mentioned Runick last time, but this category also includes Hecahands Gaigas, Hecahands Xeno, Kewl Tune Clip, and Kewl Tune Cue from Phantom Revenge, all of which proactively strike out or steal cards from the Deck/Extra Deck, so we’re hitting them in advance.
Cards That Multiply Excessively
Dodododo Warrior is the poster card for this category.
Cards That Insulate Turn 1 Combos
In Pittsburgh, players started gravitating en masse towards cards like Crossout Designator and Traptrix Rafflesia that help you force through your turn 1 combos even if your opponent has a way to respond. The price on these kinds of cards at the moment is a bit too much of a bargain for how much you stand to gain. Basically, the counters to the counters should be more expensive than the counters themselves. We might need to go into this more in another article.
“Towers” Monsters
(i.e. monsters that are pretty much immune to other card effects)
Likewise, we’re going to crank up the costs of monsters like Lunalight Liger Dancer and Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus so that you have fewer points to give them generic backup.
Readjusting Extra Deck Monsters That Get You Another Card
Separate from ones that cheat out another Extra Deck monster, these are ones that just get you another card in some way. Gagagaga Girl and Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity are both cards in this category.
Re-Weighting Some Point Distributions
An example of this is the Adventurer cards, where Rite of Aramesir and Water Enchantress of the Temple are at 5 each, while the high spec Wandering Gryphon Rider is at 20. Gladiator Beasts and Crystron are also being looked at, for this.
A more high-profile case is Branded, where The Fallen & The Virtuous came out and we figured everybody would want to play it in 3’s, so we balanced things by putting points on the Extra Deck monsters. From what we’re hearing, most Branded players would have been perfectly happy with just 1 or 2 copies of their new Spell Card, and would have preferred the Extra Deck costs to stay where they were, so we’re going to make that correction.
This is an example of how, when we hit cards before they’re out, we might guess wrong sometimes. But we’re happy to correct that with the next list.
Generic Housekeeping
There are several handy generic cards that almost no one is using at their current values that will drop. We’re also still figuring out how gradual to make these declines. If a card isn’t played, but then drops to zero, suddenly everyone would play 3, and then it just yo-yos back and forth. There’s a sweet spot somewhere.
