PICROSS是一款PUZZLE型游戏，它是在一块石板上分成N*N的小方框，在石板的横向和纵向用数字来标注，数字的大小表示这一行/栏有几个连续的空格。而玩家就需要根据横向和纵向的数字来判断出空格的多少和方向，用锤子把空格打掉，从而得到一副图画。NINTENDO POWER发布的版本是用画笔代替了锤子。
